Q. Where can I find River Clyde Homes offices?
A. The offices are located in Wallace Place in Greenock. Travelling from the East, go straight into Greenock on the A8, straight through the traffic lights at the Fire Station / Morrisons supermarket. Continue through the next set of lights at the Police Station. Take the next slip road on the left and you will arrive at the offices. If you are travelling by train, alight at Greenock Central station, leave the station via the main exit, walk straight down the hill and then turn left on to Cathcart Street, Follow Cathcart Street until you come to Clyde Square. Walk to the end of Clyde Square and turn right. The building on your left is the River Clyde Homes offiice.

Q. Will my rents go up with River Clyde Homes?
A. Affordable rents will be guaranteed to all tenants for 5 years and, in the longer term, one of River Clyde Homes’ main objectives (monitored by the regulator, Communities Scotland) will be to maintain affordable rent levels. River Clyde Homes, as your new landlord is in a better position, than the council was, to keep rent rises down.

Q. Will the service improve?
A. River Clyde Homes is a not-for-profit organisation with the resources to offer a better service.

Q. How will you keep us up-to-date about the process of housing stock transfer now that tenants have voted in favour?
A. All tenants will continue to be kept up-to-date about the proposed transfer through tenant representatives, newsletters, roadshows, public meetings, local newspapers and the website.

Q. Will my tenant’s rights be protected?
A. The rights of tenants in their existing homes, including the right to buy, will be protected.

Q. Will I have to move house?
A. No. Even if your home is bigger than your household needs you will not be required to move. However, if you live in an area where your home will be demolished as part of a regeneration programme we will give you more information about the redevelopment plans for your area in due course.

Q. What will happen to my housing benefit?
A. Your housing benefit entitlement will not be affected.

Q. Will housing employees transfer to the new organisation?
A. As a broad rule of thumb, employees who currently spend the majority of their time working with council housing and with council tenants will transfer. Those council staff who do transfer will have their terms and conditions of employment protected by law under the TUPE regulations.
